A cigar shaped boulder seen from the road, The Barrel itself often catches the attention of those at the nearby Cromlech but rarely drags people into the ten minute walk in. More's the pity as the climbing is superb, the lines true classics and there is little there to bore any keen boulderer.
The Barrel's downside can also be it's blessing. Nestled under Dinas Mot, the crag sits in the shade and can be considerably colder than almost any of the neighbouring spots. However on a hot day, where many other venues are simply too hard to crank hard, the Barrel can offer a good alternative.
Please note: Sadly it is not possible to photograph the Hall of the Mountain King. Descriptions have been added to the problems specifically as best as possible
