America has weird wildlife. Here be furry caterpillars which get everywhere and in everything and which look really toxic.
There are poisonous trees around too and a bit of a Deliverance vibe in general. It's crawling with bugs; so, so many of those hairy caterpillars I mentioned.
But there is awesome climbing scene including an awesome second hand gear shop in New Paltz where you can get retro vintage gear at bargain prices! :)

Great bouldering in ok proximity to NYC. I took the train to Poughkeepsie then rentalf from there. Stayed in New Paltz Hostel and rented pads from Rock and Snow
