The PYB boulder has long been popular with locals but less has been known about any other rock in the woods. More's the pity as there are now a glut of good lines, albeit spread liberally throughout the forest. The Mymbyr boulder was found and developed around 2014, with the three-star Prowess following the next year. Since, more and more has been cleaned and developed and more undoubtedly remains for the budding first ascentionists.
Sadly, a lack of traffic and the sheltered nature of the boulders means that climbs can sometimes be greener than one would like but this will only change with more traffic and the lines certainly warrant it. Easily accessed either from Plas y Brenin or the Siabod Cafe - both of which serve good food and drinks - the PYB circuit is well worth an afternoon of anyone's time.
