Description

A small but outstanding venue with more stars than problems. Roof of a Baby Buddha has become a modern classic and essential tick for anyone operating in the high 7s-low 8s, while Grey House is a fantastic two-move wonder.

Sadly, there is not much else around currently but with plenty of rock around the area, there is doubtless more for the budding activist to unearth. If you open a problem, please remember to snap a picture and the coordinates, you can report on 27 Crags through the browser!

History

The story goes that while Dave Noden was walking through the woods with his infant son, the youngster pointed into the trees and ushered Dave in. As he approached closer, he kept hoping for more of the perfect features for his perfect line. Turns out he found them. Nodders named the climb in honour of his son's somewhere miraculous find.

Maes Newyddion Woods

The area is access sensitive!

Located on the A5 between Betws y Coed and Swallow Falls Hotel, take the road into the woods, leading quickly into a forest track. Please park at the bottom of the forest track. Do not drive the forest path to park uphill as it has blocked forest logging trucks. Instead, unload here and take the obvious forest road up the hill for approximately 15 minutes, until the terrain starts to level out shortly after a widening section. The boulder is tucked in the trees on the right hand side, through a small clearing.
