Description

Coquibus Rumont
🌳🌲🌳☘️🌻Firstly, this is a nature protection area. So behave accordingly. At the moment it is allowed to climb, so let's keep it that way and respect the forest, not leaving traces, staying on paths, respecting other people.

The area is mostly known for The Island, this legendary rock, originally opened by David Graham is a well visited roof like rock. Up on the hill, drying fast, putting to test the strongest in the world. Now also known for a 9A/8C+ sit start to the same problem. But the area is not ending here. The actual main area is much more dense, dries very fast because of the south facing orientation. Featuring mostly the harder rock type in Fontainebleau. There are a lot of beautiful lines around, some known and put in this guide. Some clearly climbed but never published. You can provide the information of these if you have any or repeat a clearly brushed and cleaned line. Please add it to our database.

🚶🏃The approach is about 10-15 minutes and easy straight walking, but in the area you're facing small paths and rocky hill sides. So not a stroller friendly area.

📶It's also highly recommendable to download guide for offline use. On the hill you will get some reception but for most part, you will not have the best connectivity.

Respect the area!🧡

Coquibus Rumont

The area is access sensitive!

All of the forest of Coquibus is protected area called Biological reserve. This means, stay on paths, keep your dogs on leash during the spring and early summer season to give the wild life peace. Do not leave any traces, stash pads etc and behave nicely to other people using the forest.

Park on the big parking showed on map, Walk towards the north with Chemin de la Boulignère. When getting to the 2nd crossing where you have the bench in the forest, either go to the right and then up left the hill to get into the main area, or take the small path up the hill and be a legend by repeating The big island assis.
