Description

Bruskor is THE summer crag in Bø, and has has quality sport climbing and great trad lines. The crag is located in a gulley with one shady wall and one sunny wall. Several of the routes stay cool in warm and sunny weather.

The crag is maybe best known for its cracks, several of which are overhanging and burly. But, you can also find delicate slabs, vertical crimp fests, and powerful overhangs here.

Bring bug spray, and wear long-legged pants.

History

In one of the old topos of Bø, Bruskor was mentioned as a place for technical climbing. But it was not until 2008 that the crag was rediscovered and developed for sport and trad climbing. Henning Wang, Tobias Brodahl and Arild Mandfloen were the main developers. In 2009 almost 45 routes had been cleaned and bolted, and a topo was made the same year.

After the short spurt of development in 2008/2009, the crag was almost forgotten and rarely visited during the next years, and development halted. Still today, there are around 10 routes that are yet not first ascended. There is also some potential for more climbing on the walls on both sides of the entrance of the gulley.
