Description

This relatively unknown crag can be a worthwhile alternative for a quiet climbing day away from the crowds. The crag is located on the exit of the small gorge that is formed by the final kilometers of Keladonas river between “Fyli” and “Thriasio Pedio”. The approach sets a grim mood starting from the degraded Asporpirgos industrial zone and passing through illegally disposed trash piles and eroded dirt roads. However, the setting abruptly changes and upon reaching the crag, the visitor finds oneself in a beautiful secluded plateau with a Parnitha mountain feel.

The routes are limited in number but are quite nice and the rock is of excellent quality resembling that of “Mikri Varasova” and “Pano Alogopetra”. The crag addresses average difficulties only, lacking both very hard and very easy routes (although an interesting project still awaits a free ascent) but those climbing between 6a and 7a will be satisfied. Bolting is dense and recently maintained (2012) with no visible signs of wear.

History

The crag was developed by D. Stravogenis and D. Moutzouvis around 2000. Maintenance took place in 2012 by D. Stravogenis with the assistance of T. Grassos, K. Kiziridis and T. Tsoumanis in 2012.
