Glen Nevis is a truly magical place to go bouldering. The rock type of the boulders is Mica Schist and mostly of good quality. Sometimes the boulders are harder to get to especially in the summer time but it will be worth it if you get there. Some of the higher boulders have 360° views of the Glen and alot of the lines are really close to the road so the approach times exist from 1 minute to 30 mins max. One thing to note is that the 'Midgie season' from June to September is one not too be taken lightly.. If there's no decent amount of breeze or full sun/blue sky they will make your boulder day not pleasant anymore. An advice in this season is to take a repellant and maybe a fan or just go when there is a fair amount of breeze. The most ideal months to go here are March, April and May when there's longer dry spells, no midgies, not too hot and humid conditions. In the summer midgie season it's safer to go to the higher boulders when there's a breeze to avoid midgies. Please don't park on the passing places and remember to brush off any tick marks and all the chalk on the holds. Thanks alot and enjoy this beautiful place!
