Description

Val d’Amola topo groups some multi-pitch routes and a nice boulder area in a beautiful alpine environment. This place is well known as a starting point for the excursion to Segantini refuge and Presanella summit (the highest in Trentino with its 3558 meters of altitude above sea level).
Amola valley, thanks to its average altitude of 2000 meters, is really fresh during Summers and the great quality granite rock has always a good friction.
At the moment there are more than 30 problems with average difficulty around 6A and some harder up to 7A. But the potential for new lines is huge!
Multi-pitches have excellent rock and require good technical skills.
Val d’Amola is really good for families since approaches are easy and it is possible to have pic-nics. There is a nice river in the middle and many animals like horses, cows and donkeys.
The boulder area is new and we are sure it will become really popular in the next few years!

Val d’Amola offers an amazing landscape. It is possible to admire the Brenta Dolomites to the east and the Presanella, Mount Nero and Amola summits to the west. Few km away from here, there is Madonna di Campiglio, which absolutely deserves a visit.

History

Val d’Amola boulder area was powered by Luca Onorevoli in 2021. Some local climbers already climbed here some problems a few years ago, but they have never been recorded on a topo. There is a huge potential for other lines and we are sure that this area will still grow in the future.
Some of the multi-pitches date back to the 1960 thanks to the work of R. Maestrelli, M. Polo, P. Sacchi, L. Quaini. Others are more recent and were developed by F. Salvaterra and G. Faletti.
