Description

Straumsnes Bouldering Area

🧭 Straumsnes is a compact and scenic bouldering area located just east of Narvik, with easy access by car and a short walk from the road. The area is set on a hillside overlooking the fjord, offering open views toward the water and surrounding mountains.

🪨 The bouldering features a variety of granite blocks with everything from tall highballs to short, steep overhangs. You'll find a mix of juggy problems, technical crimp lines, and powerful overhanging routes. The rock quality is generally solid, though some blocks have lichen and may require light cleaning.

💧 Several small streams run through the area, especially in spring and early summer. These create wet zones under and around some boulders, so conditions can vary depending on recent weather. Approach paths and landings may be damp — a tarp for your pad can be useful.

🌲 The setting is quiet and natural, with minimal development—just rock, water, and views. Ideal for half-day or full-day sessions with a small group. There’s no infrastructure, so pack out everything you bring.
