BETANIA CLASSICA

Historic crag of Carnia, also called crag of Illegio or Betania, and now named after Celso Craighero, local mountaineer author of numerous routes on this wall.
Very popular in the spring and autumn, but also in the summer in the afternoon, given its exposure to the east and the almost always presence of wind.
The rock is a compact gray limestone, characterized by drops and cracks, with consequent technical and finger climbing. In winter it is possible to climb on sunny days up to around 14.00.
BIBLICA
🚶🏻♂️⏱ 20 ' - ⏱ E - ⇡ 600 mt
Sector equipped by G. Cattaino and Mattia Casanova, in typical compact gray limestone, with a yellowish section characterized by a more unstable base.
Little frequented due to the uncomfortable and exposed base (not suitable for children) and the lack of easy routes, it requires a climbing style of strong fingers and toes.
IL GJALINAR
🚶🏻♂️⏱ 3 ' - ⏱ S - ⇡ 400 mt
"Il Gjainar" is a newly bolted crag, built in 2017 by Stefano Veritti (with the help of Simone Della Vedova as regards the arrangement of the access path and rest areas at the base of the streets), which with an admirable cleaning and scaling work gave birth to this beautiful crag that already in the early 80s had been looked at by Mazzilis and De Rovere with the construction of a first mountaineering style route.
Gray limestone cliff typical of the Carnic cliffs, rich in notches and prevalence on a slightly supported wall, requires technical climbing, but there is no shortage of canes, cracks and overhangs.

Storica falesia della Carnia, chiamata anche falesia di Illegio o di Betania, ed ora intitolata a Celso Craighero, alpinista locale autore di numerose via su questa parete.
Molto frequentata nel periodo primaverile ed autunnale, ma anche nel periodo estivo nel pomeriggio, visto la sua esposizione ad est e la quasi sempre presenza di vento.
La roccia è un calcare grigio compatto, caratterizzato da gocce e fessure, con conseguente arrampicata tecnica e di dita. In inverno è possibile scalare nelle belle giornate di sole sino alle 14.00 circa.

Settore attrezzato da G. Cattaino e Mattia Casanova, in tipico calcare grigio compatto, con una sezione giallastra caratterizzata da una base più instabile.
Poco frequentato a causa della base scomoda ed esposta (non adatto ai bambini) e della mancanza di vie facili, richiede uno stile di arrampicata di dita forti e spalmi dei piedi.
IL GJALINAR

"Il Gjainar" è una falesia di recente spittatura, realizzata nel 2017 ad opera di Stefano Veritti (con l'aiuto di Simone Della Vedova per quanto riguarda sistemazione del sentiero di accesso e delle piazzole di sosta alla base delle vie), che con un'ammirevole lavoro di pulizia e disgaggio ha dato vita a questa bellissima falesia che già nei primi anni '80 era stata adocchiata da Mazzilis e De Rovere con la realizzazione di una prima via in stile alpinistico.
Falesia di calcare grigio tipico delle falesie carniche, ricca di tacche ed appiglio prevalenza su parete leggermente appoggiata, richiede un'arrampicata tecnica, ma non mancano canne, fessure e strapiombi.
