Description

Keur Kloof is the huge and alluring kloof that cleaves through the mountains between Bosch Kloof and the breathtaking Cogman’s Buttress. It is wild and has stunning mountain scenery, with crags spread deep into the kloof and high up its craggy slopes. Climbing here will enrich your spirit and your only company will be the soaring black eagles. There are no really easy routes, though, and some of the crags like Rose Bowl and Joe’s Garage have a definite ‘out there’ feel to them.

🔴Access
The kloof lies on municipal land, and there are no access problems. Just enter the kloof and climb.

🧗Shooting Range
Good steep face climbing and a fun arête route.

🧗Jamaica
I suppose someone had to bolt this crag, probably because it is quite close to the main path.

🧗The Rose Bowl
Hard multi-pitch climbing in a wild setting.

🧗The Lineup
Routes on the left are vertical and technical, and routes on the right are sustained and steep. Some nice projects up for grabs.

🧗Joe's Garage
A stunning double-tier crag, dedicated to the late Frank Zappa, with some stellar climbing from the top ledge. The link-up of Sheik Yerbouti and Burnt Weeny Sandwich gives 55 metres of immaculate climbing.

🧗The Vision - see separate crag
Yet another great crag in a wild side kloof, yielding some of the only real easy routes in Keur Kloof. Wild and Wet is superb.

🧗Heaven - see separate crag
A steep pumpy crag with two easyish routes and some hard pumpfests.
