No special access issues

🚗
From the town of Oliana continue driving northwards on the C-14 for approximately 6km to reach a large parking area on the left (P2), just before entering the second road tunnel Túnel de Remolins. Turning into this parking area is not strictly 100% legal according to the road signage, but this is where people and their vehicles once parked in considerable numbers for starting the approach to the celebrated ‘Via Ferrata de Peramola’ (which has now sadly been ‘closed’ due to worn out/unsafe installations) with no known legal issues ever arising.

🚶‍♂️
From the back of the parking area, cross a section of the ‘old’ road that still exists to locate a path leading down into a dry streambed. Where the path starts there is a metal fire prevention signpost on the left and the name ‘Rams’ painted on a dry tree stump on the right. Follow the dry streambed, with one or two minor deviations left or right at various points (multiple cairns show the correct line) all the way up to the base of the sector
(20 minutes from P2).

Note: this approach is something of a mini-adventure in itself — the smooth, water-worn boulders in the dry streambed are slippery, even when dry, and in damp/wet conditions they most definitely constitute a health hazard for the unwary. There are also a couple of short, steep sections where very old in-situ ropes aid progress, but hopefully once the sector gets the attention it deserves these will be replaced and augmented.
