Description

Palokalliot is a small crag located in the parts of Sipoonkorpi within Vantaa. The crag is a small one, but has multiple climbs that are worth the trek, especially in the 5+ - 6C+ range. A great highlight of this location is definitely the nature and wildlife surrounding the climbing! The rock quality within the crag ranges from extremely enjoyable to absolutely terrible - even with routes right next to each other. The sectors are between 2 and 6 meters tall. You can manage with a single pad, but some routes may require another for safety. The sectors have varying amounts of shade. Bring bug spray - there are mosquitos and other nasties!

History

Scouted by Asikainen and Virtala on a camping trip in September of 2024, the pair cleaned some parts of the two walls and 7 routes were climbed in total.

In August of 2025, VUK ry held their first annual climbing camp at Palokalliot, and the area was cleaned and climbed in its entirety. Most of the work was done by the ones staying overnight, whose names are credited as FA:s.

The history of Palokalliot will be largely be decided by the people who are going to climb here - some very clear routes remain to be climbed, especially at the main wall. Will you be the one up for the task?
