No special access issues

Remember that the forest is shared with hikers, mountain bikers, trail runners etc. Be polite and considerate, clean up after yourself, and brush off tick marks before you leave.

Search for "Østmarka Idrettsbarnehage" for where the approach begins.

🚗 Driving 🚗
Parking is limited, public transport recommended. Public parking available near Hellerudsvingen 28, 0684 Oslo (59.899910, 10.851864). From Oslo city centre take Rv162, E6, Tvetenveien and Hellerudveien to Hellerudsvingen in Bydel Østensjø. Takes about 15 minutes. Alternative, limited street parking is available on the north side of the area, near Trollåsveien 45, 0672 Oslo (59.907261, 10.856318). This makes for a longer approach to the deluxe sector, but is a good way to combine it with the Lia crag.

🚌 Public transport 🚇
🚇 Metro/T-bane: Line 3-Mortensrud (Eastbound) to Oppsal station. From Oppsal, follow blue marked DNT-path towards Østmarka until you get to the parking lot by the edge of the forest. The walk takes about 15 minutes. About 35 minutes in total from city centre to approach start.
🚌 Bus: Bus 76-Mortensrud T or 79-Åsbråten to Solbergliveien stop if coming from Oslo central areas. Transfer from metro is possible at Helsfyr or Hellerud station to the buses above. The bus stop is right next to the parking lot/approach start.

🚶‍♀️ Approach 🚶‍♂️
Good gravel path from parking lot. Follow path eastwards, into the forest. The first boulder (Åsynsteinen) is visible from the path on the right side after about 8 min of walking. From this point (and the next 400 meters of gravel path) you can branch off to the south onto trails (use the map).

To get to the boulders in the eastern parts, follow the gravel path to a wide intersection, make a right, and follow the path to a small lake. From here you are close to the boulders in Sveitserparken, or can find the main trails that will lead you to Lutsteinen, Edelsteinen and Lut i skogen.
