This topo covers several small sport climbing sectors around the village of Drena, known for its stunning castle overlooking the Sarca Valley. Each sector offers a diverse experience, from steep and powerful climbs to family-friendly routes.
• Castello di Drena
This sector is an overhanging crag with short, powerful, and bouldery routes, nestled in a nice canyon carved by Sallagoni creek. The grades range from 7a to 8b, with some hard projects still waiting for first ascents. It is climbable in the rain, but there is often high humidity due to its exposure. Best conditions during the mid seasons.
The crag is well-bolted, and the base is comfortable, approach is short and straightforward
The Sallagoni creek is just a few meters away, and a scenic hiking trail with Tibetan bridges runs through the lower part of the canyon, a highly recommended detour.
• Area 51
A long, quiet rock band near Drena, has immense potential for development, though currently, it features only 10 routes from 5c to 6c. The routes are split within two sectors, Roswell, the largest one, and Nikola Tesla, a small grey limestone wall.
The area is peaceful, well-equipped, and a great spot for climbers looking for solitude. Who knows? More routes may be added in the future.
• Dos Pelà
A relatively new crag designed with families in mind. It features 11 short routes above the fourth grade, perfect for kids and beginners. The approach is easy, the base is comfortable and spacious, and a picnic area nearby makes it an ideal place for a relaxed climbing day.
This wall gets plenty of sunshine during the day, making it very good also for winter climbing.

Questa relazione raggruppa alcuni piccoli settori di arrampicata sportiva situati nei dintorni del borgo di Drena, famoso per il suo splendido castello che domina la Valle del Sarca. Ogni settore offre un’esperienza diversa, da vie strapiombanti ad altre più adatte alle famiglie.
• Castello di Drena
È un muro strapiombante con vie corte, fisiche e boulderose, situato in un suggestivo canyon scavato dal torrente Sallagoni. Le difficoltà vanno dal 7a all’8b, con alcuni progetti duri ancora in attesa di una prima salita. È possibile arrampicare anche con la pioggia, ma l’umidità è spesso elevata a causa dell’esposizione della parete. Le condizioni migliori si trovano nelle mezze stagioni.
La falesia è ben attrezzata, la base è comoda e l’avvicinamento breve e semplice.
Il torrente Sallagoni scorre a pochi metri, e nella parte bassa del canyon si trova una via ferrata molto suggestiva con ponti tibetani, un’escursione altamente consigliata.
• Area 51
Una lunga fascia rocciosa in una zona tranquilla vicino a Drena, con un grande potenziale di sviluppo. Attualmente, però, conta solo 10 vie dal 5c al 6c, distribuite in due settori. Roswell è il più grande della falesia, Nikola Tesla è una piccola parete di calcare grigio.
L’area è silenziosa, ben attrezzata e ideale per chi cerca tranquillità. Chissà? Forse in futuro verranno chiodate nuove vie.
• Dos Pelà
Una falesia relativamente nuova, pensata per le famiglie. Presenta 11 vie corte dal quarto grado in su, perfette per bambini e principianti. L’avvicinamento è facile, la base ampia e confortevole, e la presenza di un'area picnic nelle vicinanze la rende perfetta per una giornata di arrampicata in relax.
Grazie alla sua buona esposizione al sole, è un’ottima opzione anche per l’arrampicata invernale.
