No special access issues
No special access issues exist here, but Birchen Edge is situated within the Peak District Naional Park and therefore all the normal rules of good behaviour should be followed.
Approach: Park in the National Trust pay and display car park next to the Robin Hood Inn on the B6050, just after the junction with the A619 Baslow-to-Chesterfield road. On foot, follow the B6050, heading away from the pub, for roughly 100m, to the start of a major footpath, on the left. Follow this, without deviation, for approximately 900m to reach the base of the crag (10 minutes from P).
Note: Kismet Buttress lies some 150m to the right/south of the main crag and can be approached either by walking back along the top of the escarpment or, for those heading there directly, by taking the trail which forks right from the main path (steeply uphill at first) approximately 100m from the road.
