No special access issues
The area is situated on the east shore of lake Attersee in Upper Austria between Weissenbach and Steinbach.
Coming from the west (Salzburg), leave the highway at Mondsee and take the B151 to Unterach; there take a right on to the B152. Around 1,5km after Weissenbach parking is left of the road next to the lake on a public and free parking space (including a public toilet as well as free access to the lake for a refreshing dip in summer).
Coming from the east (Linz), leave the highway at Seewalchen and take the B152 to Weyregg. 2km after Steinbach you find the parking strip on your right next to the lake.
To access the crag just walk up the Forststrasse (cul de sac) at the southern end of the parking and continue up the 'Brennerriesensteig' between the 2 houses directly into the bouldering area. 3 min from parking to boulder nr1.
- around 100m after the houses there is a small path on the right leading to boulders nr. 2-15
- nr. 16-36 are foung a little bit higher up on the "Nikoloweg" also leading to the right
- continue the "Brennerriesensteig" further up you will again come to the Forststrasse. Take a left here and after a couple meters there is a path on the right leading to boulders 92-104
- keep walking down the Forststrasse until a raised hide, access to nr. 105 is on the opposite side up a steep forest aisle
- continue the "Brennerriesensteig" upwards to find all other boulders. You can also use the path between 31 and 32 up to the end of the Forststrasse and access the above area from here
- nr. 34 is a couple hundred meters further along "Nikoloweg" towards Weissenbach close to the fixed rope sign
Access to all the official boulders as also stated in the printed guide 'Salted Block Attersee' is legal using the designated walkways only. Please refrain from straying through the woods to keep this area legal for future generations.
