Description

A rather nice sport crag located in a wooded but still kind of cosy environment 3 km south of the popular motorbikes café at Rosenhill. This 35-meter-long and about 15 meters high wall is mostly vertical or slightly overhanging. The rock quality is generally solid, but sometimes a bit slippery as well. The style is varied with overhanging crack lines, bulgy formations that are hard to read, and some ordinary face climbing. The routes are well-equipped although you might have to take precautions when clipping some of the bolts.

You should visit here as there are some really fun and entertaining routes. At least one of them belongs to one of the Stockholm classics (Slitvargen, 6c+). During summer it can be a lot of mosquitoes here. The area is wooded but fairly flat and should work well for children. The approach from the parking is short and only takes a couple of minutes. In summer, this wall usually dries up the day after rainfall.

Environment: West southwest, with some trees in front of the wall that can give shade here and there.

History

Uringeklippan is mentioned in older guidebooks but it was Reino Liimatainen who started developing the crag. Reino worked in the area and was thus given the natural opportunity to look for developable crags. Thanks to some fun bolted routes in grades suitable for many, this crag quickly became popular among the climbing community in Stockholm.
