New small sector: La Carrière. Grade 5 and 6. Just a couple of routes, suitable for beginners, but 2 of them worth a visit. Belgian climbers will know this style of climbing, an old 'carrière', but not at all slippery.

47 lengths from 3a to 7c +.
Sector overlooking the village, in the shade from 1 p.m. and protected by an epo-nyme cross. This is one of the areas of Tautavel that delights climbers in the summer. On a typical north face limestone, some people love others hate it, the main sector offers long flights that will jeopardize your continuity. A very small sector nestles on the south face, which is ideal for learning to climb in the lead.
🚶♂️Pedestrian access
From the car park, continue along the vines. At the end, enter the scrub about twenty meters. Do not miss the path on the right which begins with a short climbing passage. At each fork encountered, turn right. To go to the initiation sector, turn left at the second fork.

Secteur surplombant le village, à l’ombre à partir de treize heures et protégé par une croix épo-nyme. C’est un des secteurs de Tautavel qui ravie les grimpeurs l’été. Sur un calcaire typique face nord, certains adorent d’autres détestent, le secteur principal propose de longues envolées qui mettront à mal votre continuité. Un tout petit secteur se niche en face sud se prêtant bien à l’apprentissage de l’escalade en tête.
🚶♂️Accès pédestre
Depuis le parking, poursuivre en bordure de vignes. Au bout, pénétrer le maquis d’une vingtaine de mètres. Ne pas rater à droite le sentier qui débute par un court passage d’escalade où l’onpose les mains. A chaque fourche rencontrée, prendre à droite. Pour aller au secteur initiation, prendre à gauche à la deuxième fourche.
