No special access issues
Leave Rethymno heading southeast on the road toward Prasies and the village of Patsos.
You will pass by Potamon Dam-Lake. At the main intersection where you can turn right uphill toward Patsos village, instead turn left, following the clearly marked signs down to Patsos Gorge. It's roughly 23km and a 35-40min drive
Drive all the way down and park at the beginning of the canyon trail. From there starts your hike.
You will first pass the small chapel of Agios Antonios and cross the river via a wooden bridge. Continue to the right. Even if the path seems unclear at times, make your way carefully through the large boulders and stay close to the canyon wall.
The approach should take no more than about 10min.
