Due to the massive landslide of 01/12/2023 which affected the Scogliera sector (with the collapse of a good part of this sector and many of its streets) the traffic of the state road 52bis towards the MonteCroce Carnico Pass was interrupted at Km 26,500 (Casetta in Canada).
Currently, the road to the pass from the Austrian side is also closed.

The spot of the Passo di Monte Croce Carnico has about fifteen sectors for over 250 routes. The cliffs are generally made of very compact limestone, with slabs, vertical walls and sometimes cracks, resulting in technical climbing and good foot confidence, but also of resistance. The steep overhanging routes are rare.
The routes are graded according to the French scale, with a rather severe evaluation (especially in the "historical" routes) but fairly uniform in all its cliffs.

Nice sector of gray / yellow limestone with about twenty pitches, it has an inclination that varies from vertical to leaning, with small sections in a slight overhang, with a very technical and sensitive climbing in the feet given the richness of notches and slopers.
3 - ANNO SCHNEE
🚶🏻♂️⏱ 15 '- 🧭 S - ⇡ 1430 mt
Recently equipped crag by Reihnard Ranner.
Good nailing with stainless steel material and distance between bolts generally above average, but almost always in an optimal position for return.
The gradation is quite severe, and for many shots you have to consider at least half a degree more.
The face has about twenty pitches of difficulty from 6a + to 8a +, with an athletic climbing style with cracks, dihedrals, holes and backhand holds. However, it requires good sensitivity and confidence in the feet.
4 - ANNO SCHNEE II

Nice sector of lightly supported slab, with about ten routes ranging from 5c to 7a. Technical climbing and foot climbing on notches and scales.

Small sector of slab resting in typical gray limestone. Ideal for beginners, it requires a good use of the foot in the spread.
6 - EMMENTHAL

Very compact limestone, a sector with a prevalence of easy routes very suitable for beginners.
7 - GROTTA DEI FUCILIERI

Small sector of dark gray limestone on a vertical slab, resulting in technical and finger climbing.
8/9 - SCOGLIERA (LEFT and RIGHT SECTOR)

Very compact limestone, worked in strips and notches with many cracks and dihedrals. Very technical climbing, of endurance and strength.

CRETA DI COLLINA CRAGS
Rock mainly of typical compact gray limestone.
Considering the prevalence of medium / low grades and that the sectors are located at the edges of the “pian della marmotta”, a large grassy plain, this crag is very suitable for families and children.
The bolting is very good at 8 and 10mm bolts, chains with carabiner or maillon.

A causa delll'imponente frana del 01/12/2023 che ha interessato il settore Scogliera (con il crollo di una buona parte di tale settore e di molte delle sue vie) la viabilità della statale 52bis verso il Passo di MonteCroce Carnico risulta interrotta al Km 26,500 (Casetta in Canadà).
Attualmente anche la viabilità verso il passo dal versanante austriaco risulta interdetto.
Il comprensorio del Passo di Monte Croce Carnico conta una quindicina di settori per oltre 250 vie. Le falesie sono generalmente di calcare molto compatto, con placche, muri verticali e a tratti in fessura, con conseguente arrampicata tecnica e buona fiduciarie piedi, ma anche di resistenza. Rare le vie in forte strapiombo.
Le vie sono gradate secondo la scala francese, con una valutazione piuttosto severa (in special modo nelle vie "storiche") ma abbastanza uniforme in tutte le sue falesie.

Bel settore di calcare grigio/giallo che conta una ventina di tiri. ha un'inclinazione che varia da verticale ad appoggiato, con piccoli tratti in leggero strapiombo, con un'arrampicata molto tecnica e di sensibilità nei piedi vista la ricchezza di tacche e svasi.
3 - ANNO SCHNEE
🚶🏻♂️⏱ 15 ' - 🧭 S - ⇡ 1430 mt
Falesia attrezzata di recente ad opera di Reihnard Ranner.
Chiodatura buona con materiale inox e distanza fra gli spit generalmente superiore alla media, ma quasi sempre in posizione ottimale per il rinviaggio.
La gradazione è piuttosto severa, e per molti tiri bisogna considerare almeno mezzo grado in più.
La parete conta una ventina di tiri di difficoltà dal 6a+ all’8a+, con stile di scalata atletico con fessure, diedri, buchi e prese rovesce. Richiede comunque buona sensibilità e fiducia nei piedi.
4 - ANNO SCHNEE II

Bel settore di placca leggermente appoggiata, con una decina di vie che vanno dal 5c al 7a. Scalata tecnica e di piedi su tacche e scaglie.

Piccolo settore di placca appoggiata in tipico calcare grigio. Ideale per i neofiti, richiede un buon utilizzo del piede in spalmo.
6 - EMMENTHAL

Calcare molto compatto, settore con prevalenza di vie facili molto adatto ai principianti.
7 - GROTTA DEI FUCILIERI

Piccolo settore di calcare grigio scuro su placca verticale, con conseguente arrampicata tecnica e di dita.
8/9 - SCOGLIERA (SETTORE SX e DX)

Calcare molto compatto, lavorato a listelle e tacche con molte fessure e diedri. Arrampicata molto tecnica, di resistenza e forza.

FALESIE DI CRETA DI COLLINA
Roccia prevalentemente di tipico calcare grigio compatto.
Considerata la prevalenza di gradi medio/bassi e che i settori si trovano ai bordi “pian della marmotta”, un'ampio piano erboso, questa falesia è molto indicata per le famiglie e per i più piccoli.
La spittatura è molto buona a fix da 8 e 10mm, catene con moschettone o maillon.
