Irreale e imponente muro verticale e leggermente aggettante di gneiss alto fino a 35/40 metri, un posto assolutamente imperdibile.
Falesia estremamente particolare: l'arrampicata si svolge infatti in larga parte su prese, tacche (aggressive sulla pelle) o piatte, verticali e oblique, obbligando a un'arrampicata molto difficile e tecnica, con tallonaggi e piedi spesso spalmati o su piccoli appoggi: nonostante l'inclinazione non eccessiva i tiri risultano quindi essere nel complesso abbastanza fisici e continui.
Non mancano alcune sezioni che si snodano su estetiche fessure e corte vie boulderose.
La base è comoda, immersa in un bel bosco di castagni, ma un po' ombreggiata, attrezzarsi, di conseguenza, con vestiti caldi.
Nonostante l'esposizione a sud, in inverno il sole va via abbastanza presto (intorno alle 13:30/14:00) dietro la montagna davanti, mentre nelle mezze stagioni rimane in parete anche fino a metà pomeriggio.
I periodi migliori per scalare sono quindi appunto l'inverno, viste anche le condizioni necessarie per questa tipologia di roccia e, eventualmente, nei pomeriggi delle mezze stagioni.
Alcuni tiri, tra cui spiccano sicuramente "Serpe in seno" e "Paset club", sono dei veri e propri capolavori dell'alta difficoltà; ma anche sul livello medio e sui settimi gradi, la falesia ha delle indubbie perle da offrire.
La parete rimane abbastanza asciutta in caso di maltempo: possibilità di scalare anche con debole pioggia; solo dopo prolungati giorni di forte pioggia o neve, molte fessure e fessurine cominciano a colare (spesso in primavera).
Difficile trovare affollamento al Paset, se siete in cerca di un luogo tranquillo e tiri di elevata qualità è la falesia che fa al caso vostro!

Surreal and imposing wall of gneiss, vertical and slightly overhanging, reaching up to 35/40 meters, an absolutely unmissable place.
Extremely particular crag: climbing takes place largely on holds, crimps (aggressive on the skin) or flat, vertical and oblique, forcing a very difficult and technical climb, with heel hooks and feet often smeared or on small footholds: despite the not excessive inclination, the pitches are therefore quite physical and continuous overall.
There are also some sections that wind through aesthetic cracks and short bouldery routes.
The base is comfortable, nestled in a beautiful chestnut forest, but a bit shaded, so come prepared with warm clothes.
Despite the south exposure, in winter the sun goes away quite early ( around 1:30pm/2pm) behind the mountain in front, while in the shoulder seasons it stays on the wall even until mid-afternoon.
The best periods to climb are therefore winter, given the necessary conditions for this type of rock, and possibly in the afternoons of the intermediate seasons.
Some routes, among which stand out "Serpe in seno" and "Paset club" are true masterpieces of high difficulty; but also on the medium level and on the seventh grade, the crag has some undoubted gems to offer.
The wall remains fairly dry in bad weather: possibility to climb even with light rain; only after prolonged days of heavy rain or snow, many cracks and small cracks begin to drip (often in spring).
Difficult to find crowds at Paset, if you're looking for a quiet place and high-quality routes, this is the crag four you!

Quest'imponente parete venne scoperta, e parzialmente chiodata, già a metà anni '90 da Fabrizio Agosti, Morena Spagnoli e Rino Leonardi, che vi tracciarono una manciata di tiri.
Per oscure ragioni che ormai si perdono nel tempo, vi furono episodi di schiodature e richiodature, forse legate a faide tra climber dell'epoca; insomma, il posto, complice forse anche la troppo elevata difficoltà offerta, cadde rapidamente nell'abbandono e nell'oblio.
Dovranno passare quasi 30 anni affinchè il Paset venga riscoperto e riemerga dalle nebbie del passato.
È infatti a inizio autunno 2022 che Alberto Bassini, ignaro di tutto ciò, decide di andare finalmente a dare un occhiata a questa muraglia, ben visibile dalla superstrada del Sempione, che già da tempo catturava l'attenzione sua e di Stefano Bianchi.
Raggiunta la parete, con stupore nota la presenza di qualche spit decisamente obsoleto e, confrontandosi con qualche local, viene a conoscenza della sua storia.
Si rende anche immediatamente conto delle potenzialità, in termini di qualità, quantità e difficoltà, offerte dalla falesia e, in breve, insieme a Garcia Frigo si mette al lavoro. Nel corso dell'autunno e dell'inverno, i due, con l'aiuto di Stefano Bianchi, richiodano e sistemano i tiri storici e ampliano notevolmente il numero di linee presenti, giungendo, nella stagione, ad avere più di una trentina di tiri.
La falesia richiama fin da subito un piccolo gruppetto di amici, tra cui il forte Francesco Castellano, cui si devono le libere di alcuni dei tiri più duri.
L'anno successivo Stefano Bianchi aggiunge le ultime tre linee possibili: "Mi sento strano", "The last ride" e "Linea di confine" completando così, di fatto, il settore principale.
Nel corso dello stesso inverno la falesia vede anche la visita del fortissimo Gabriele Moroni che, ripetendo velocemente alcune delle linee più dure, conferma la qualità dei tiri.
Durante la stagione 2024/2025, viene aggiunto da Alberto Bassini un altro settorino: il "Privè", con linee intense e boulderose, tra cui spiccano due gemme: "Pensavo meglio" e "il disvelamento del pesce", due tiri cortissimi ma dai movimenti pregevoli.
Ad oggi la storia del paset non è assolutamente finita: alcuni tiri, decisamente duri, sono ancora in attesa della First Ascent; inoltre in futuro potrebbero nascere altri piccoli settori adiacenti che, in caso, verranno di volta in volta aggiunti nella relazione.

This imposing wall was discovered, and partially bolted, already in the mid-90s by Fabrizio Agosti, Morena Spagnoli and Rino Leonardi, who put up a handful of routes.
For obscure reasons that are now lost in time, there were episodes of unbolting and rebolting, possibly due to rivalries between climbers at the time; in short, the place, perhaps also due to the too high difficulty offered, quickly fell into abandonment and oblivion.
It will take almost 30 years for Paset to be rediscovered and emerge from the mists of the past.
It is indeed in early autumn 2022 that Alberto Bassini, unaware of all this, decides to finally go and take a look at this wall, clearly visible from the Sempione highway, which had already been catching his and Stefano Bianchi's attention for some time.
Reaching the wall, he is surprised to notice the presence of some decidedly obsolete spits and, talking to some locals, he learns about its history.
He also immediately realizes the potential, in terms of quality, quantity, and difficulty, offered by the crag and, shortly, together with Garcia Frigo, he gets to work. During the autumn and winter, the two, with the help of Stefano Bianchi, rebolt and fix the historic routes and significantly expand the number of lines present, reaching, in the seasons, more than thirty lines.
The crag attracted right away a small group of friends, including the strong Francesco Castellano, to whom we owe the first ascents of some of the hardest pitches.
The following year, Stefano Bianchi adds the last three possible lines: "Mi sento strano", "The last ride" and "Linea di confine", thus completing the main sector.
During the same winter, the crag also sees the visit of the very strong Gabriele Moroni who, quickly repeating some of the hardest lines, confirms the quality of the routes.
During the 2024/2025 season, another small sector is added by Alberto Bassini: "il Privè", with intense and bouldery lines, among which two gems stand out: "Pensavo meglio" and "Il disvelamento del pesce", two very short routes but with excellent moves.
To this day, the story of Paset is far from over: some pitches, definitely hard, are still waiting for their First Ascent; moreover, in the future, other small adjacent sectors could emerge which, if so, will be added to the topos as they come along.
