No special access issues
Per arrivare al parcheggio:
Dalla superstrada del Sempione, uscire a Piedimulera-Pallanzeno e imboccare la statale in direzione Domodossola.
Seguirla e raggiungere il centro abitato di Pallanzeno.
Al semaforo girare a sinistra in via Leonardi e successivamente a destra in via T. Alva Edison (passando di fianco al municipio: possibilità di parcheggiare) seguendola fino alla fine, dove si trova lo spiazzo per il posteggio e da dove parte una ripida strada cementata con divieto di accesso alle auto.
Avvicinamento:
Proseguire sulla strada cementata con divieto di accesso alle auto e, dopo qualche tornante, girare a destra su dei gradini, imboccando un sentiero che sale nel bosco.
Salendo, dopo un paio di tralicci gialli, si giunge in un piccolo spiazzo con una fontana.
Imboccare la traccia che parte appena a sinistra della fontana con indicazione "Alpe Basciumo sopra". Appena dopo, proseguire seguendo l'indicazione "Gaiasco/briglia bivio" su una traccia che, un po' salendo, un po' traversando verso sinistra, si unisce a un altro sentiero (che sale da sinistra, secondo avvicinamento) e che in breve conduce a un'altra piccola fontanella e successivamente a una baita.
Proseguire sulla destra giungendo in brevissimo a un rudere; da qui andare a sinistra e seguire la traccia segnata con ometti che in breve conduce in falesia.
In alternativa si può seguire la strada cementata fin quasi alla sua fine: un centinaio circa di metri prima del suo termine imboccare un sentiero sulla destra che, salendo nel bosco, si ricongiunge all'altro avvicinamento prima della seconda fontanella.
To get to the car park:
From the Simplon highway, exit at Piedimulera-Pallanzeno and take the state road towards Domodossola.
Follow it, and reach the built-up area of Pallanzeno.
At the traffic light turn left onto Via Leonardi and then right onto Via T. Alva Edison (passing next to the town hall: possibility to park) following it to the end, where there is a parking area and from where a steep cemented road, with no access for cars sign, starts.
Approach:
Continue on the cemented road with no car access sign and, after a few hairpin turns, turn right onto some steps, entering a path that climbs through the woods.
Climbing up, after a couple of yellow pylons, you reach a small clearing with a fountain.
Take the trail that starts just to the left of the fountain with the sign "Alpe Basciumo sopra". Immediately after, continue following the sign "Gaiasco/briglia bivio" on a trail that, partly climbing, partly traversing to the left, joins another trail (which rises from left, second approach) and which sortly leads to another small fountain and then to a hut.
Continue to the right reaching a ruin in a very short time; from here go to the left and follow the trail marked with cairns which shortly leads to the crag.
Alternatively, you can follow the cemented road almost to its end: about a hundred meters before its end, take the obviuos trail on the right which, climbing into the woods, rejoins the other approach before the second fountain.
