Description

On face value, the Pacman boulders are not really worth bothering with: not loads of problems, spread over four sites, lengthy walk in often through typical Welsh bog. And yet this is the perfect example of how logic cannot always be applied to give a judgement of a bouldering venue. The Pacman boulders are a must for every climber.

The original boulders were primarily the haunt of those operating in the high 6s and low 7s, although now the addition of the excellent Prisoners bloc and the Thonz bloc offer more for those who have ticked all of the (sensible) problems previously on offer. The rock is of excellent quality, offering great friction and in a setting that is well worth the half hour of walking in.

But it is the movement of the lines that really inspires. Ask any established local boulderer and they will probably offer a thoughtful smile, thinking back to some fantastic sessions on these isolated blocs. If you haven't, go and create your own happy memories.
