No special access issues
❗️Please respect the alpine environment – stay on marked trails, do not leave any litter, and avoid damaging vegetation near the climbing sectors. Camping is not allowed near the hut or the crag. Use the hut for overnight stays. Keep noise to a minimum and respect wildlife, especially during early mornings and evenings. 🚯🚫⛺️
🚗 Drive to Hochimst, just above the town of Imst, where you’ll find a large public parking area near the base station of the Imster Bergbahnen (Untermarkter Alm lift). Parking here is free or low-cost, depending on season and usage of the lift.
🚶 Approach on Foot:
From the base station, either:
Take the chairlift to the Alpjoch top station and hike to the hut in 30–45 minutes, or
Hike from Hochimst directly via well-marked trails in about 2.5 to 3 hours (elevation gain ~900 m).
From the Muttekopfhütte, most climbing sectors are within a 5–20 minute walk. Paths to the crags are signed and follow small alpine trails – good footwear and sure-footedness are recommended.
