Description

Monte Meta lies in the heart of National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. It hosts a small boulder area which today counts about forty lines divided into two sectors. The first consists of an isolated boulder, called "The Moonboard". It is very easy to reach, it only takes 30 seconds from the road! As the name suggests it is a solid limestone panel with beautiful crimps and some jugs. On this about ten problems up to 7C have been set up, plus some games and variants. The landing is perfect and the lines are amazing, especially Frankenstein, Poof and Grande Poof (project). Given the location, the place is perfect for quick sessions as for a long term projecting.
The second is located on the Biscurri plain, just over an hour's walk from the Campitelli plateau and hosts 3 large boulders on which there are about thirty problems. Most of these are easy, but there are few lines for which it worth making the long approach, like Loop and Mercurio. The sector offers a wonderful landscape with untouched nature, wild animals and tons of tranquillity.
Remember that from late July to early September the hiking track is closed to protect the fauna.
For ski-alp lovers is possible to get there by skiing in late winter or spring.
