🚗 Arrival
A couple of practical notes before you start:
If you are arriving from the north, many GPS apps may try to send you down a very narrow road near the golf course before Toscolano Maderno, or they may redirect you through Cecina. Do not take either of these routes.
Instead, continue directly into Toscolano Maderno.
From Toscolano, follow the signs to the small village of Gaino. On the outskirts of Gaino you’ll find a large roadside parking area. If you are driving a large van, it is advisable to park here—this will only add about 1 km to the approach, and the final section of road is quite narrow.
If you continue driving: go to the southern end of this parking area and follow the signs for Folino / Cabiana / Scuderia Castello. Continue for 250 m and turn left again following Scuderia Castello. Stay on the main road for another 350 m until you reach the entrance of the hamlet Folino.
Cross the road and continue straight up a steep, narrow road signposted Scuderia Castello / Località Camerate. After 140 m, continue straight again toward Scuderia Castello. About 300 m later you will reach a parking spot near a photovoltaic panel installation with space for approximately six cars. There is another small parking area (two spaces) a further 150 m ahead on a steep hairpin bend.
🚶♂️ Sectors
From either parking area, follow the main road until you reach a gate/barrier. Turn left here onto a steep mule track (CAI 221). Follow this path to reach the base of the main sector.
For the other sectors, continue left and downhill through the woods. To reach Sector 3, a short section of fixed ropes helps with the descent.
