Description

The Milestone Buttress is one of North Wales historic trad climbing crags. What is slightly less known is that it plays host to a stack of outstanding bouldering. This wasn't helped by the crag's omission from the Boulder Britain guide (in favour of much lesser crags perhaps) but this was rectified with the publication of the latest addition of North Wales Bouldering, where a large number of new satellite problems have now been added.

The focal point remains The Pit; home to such classic lines as Harvey Oswald, Jez's Arete and The Pit and the Pendulum. Nearer the crag proper live Marilyn Monroe and Bombshell, both outstanding lines, while easier warm ups can be found right next to the road.

The boulders are located in a talus field, meaning navigation and even moving around can be a challenge. Not that this should dissuade anyone, far from it, as any attempts to access these excellent climbs will bring fantastic climbing in a truly mountainous setting
