🔴 Meadow Top is PRIVATE property! The landowner is not interested in a formal agreement with climbers but is aware of our presence. Without a formal agreement our access is especially at risk! The landowner has asked in particular that 1) climbers stick to the boulders and immediately along the clifftop and 2) NO FIRES. Please do not walk up the hill, beyond the immediate area around the boulders listed in this guide. Keep your presence as discrete as possible, do not play loud music or let out battle cries.

The Meadow River is the largest tributary to the world-famous white water river, the Gauley River. For 10 miles from the town of Nallen to the confluence with the Gauley, the Meadow River is a boulder-choked riverbed wonderland. The amount of developed and undeveloped boulders in the Meadow River Gorge is staggering, but because of current access issues, only 2 areas have been published. NRAC (the New River Alliance of Climbers) is currently making great strides to improve access on the Meadow, so more bouldering can become accessible.
Meadow Top is one of the most popular bouldering area in the region. An excellent trail system, flat landings, great concentration, and tons of moderates make it much more user friendly than your typical New River bouldering experience. With over 100 problems, several roofs that stay dry in light rain, and a good range of grades, Meadow Top has got it going on!
