Mäyrävuori is an unique climbing area where you can find boulders, sport and trad climbs. Mäyrävuori is largely known for its hard climbs, mesmerizing atmosphere and good rock quality. It offers hardest test pieces for both bouldering (Veto Production Extended 8A+) and sport climbing (Gollum 8b) in Pirkanmaa. The main area is a big boulder Siirtolohkare which has drifted away from the main cliff Pääkallio as time has passed.
Pääkallio offers sport climbing from 7a to 7c. Siirtolohkare area offers hard sport climbing from 7b to 8b and lots of technical boulder problems where personal micro beta often separates success from failure. In Sivukallio you can test your mental skills with highballs around ~6A+. Manttelisti area locates a little further from the main area, but is worth checking out for easier climbing. There is surprisingly thick forest around the area and many steeper climbs never see the sun which makes mäyrävuori a good choice for summer destination.
Mäyrävuori itself locates really close to highway, so for those who value sound of silence or nature should be vary. It is also situated close to local people and is popular walking destination for many. Unfortunately often there is trash found under the main block Siirtolohkare. While climbers are probably not guilty of carrying old TVs and bicycles to the rock :), it is good habit to be prepared to take some extra trash from Mäyrävuori with you.
