Kettukallio on kompakti ja helposti saavutettava alue noin 9 km Porin keskustasta. Lähestyminen kalliolle on porilaiseen tyyliin lyhyt. Kettukallion reittien alastulot ovat enimmäkseen hyviä. Suurin osa reiteistä on avoimella lounaisseinällä, joten aurinkoisena päivänä siellä on kuumaa. Kettukallion kivi on karkeahkoa ja kitkaista, paikoin jopa terävää (muista pakata sormiteippi mukaasi!). Samankaltaista kiveä on tarjolla pyöreämpänä eli enemmän jääkauden hiomana Takalankulmassa ja Järventaustassa.

Kettu-sektori muodostuu kalliojyrkänteestä ja siitä irronneesta lohkareesta. Jyrkänteen erikoisuus ovat useat halkeamat, joita muutamat reitit hyödyntävät: Härmä on 7A:n nega-jammailu, jossa on taatusti haastetta kokeneemmallekin kallioketulle. Lempeämpää menoa tarjoaa Lehmuksenkukan diagonaali, joka on tällä hetkellä (2020) yksi eniten tähtiä keränneistä 6A:n linjoista Porin seudulla. Perinteisempää krimppailua ja listakiipeilyä voi harrastaa pääseinämän molempien laitojen linjoissa. Lohkare puolestaan tarjoaa kiivettäväksi kelpo släbin sekä useita kokonaan tai osittain kanttia pitkin kulkevia linjoja, kuten Porin Matti extensio (6C+), Viisi senttiä (6B+) ja Puusku (6A). Ketun takapuoli -sektorilla on kaksi helppoa ja matalaa lämmittelyreittiä.

Kettukallio ("Fox Cliff") is a compact and easily accessible crag 9 km from the center of Pori. Approach from the parking space is short, as is usual in the region of Pori. Landings in Kettukallio are mostly good. Majority of the lines orient south-west with little shade, so on sunny days the crag will be hot. The rock is rather coarse (with good friction), and on some lines even sharp (pack the finger tape with you!). More rounded version of similar rock type is found in Takalankulma and Järventausta.

Kettu-sector consists of a cliff and a detached boulder. The specialty of the cliff are cracks that some routes utilize: Härmä is a 7A finger-jamming testpiece that will challenge even the experienced climbers. Lehmuksenkukka (6A) offers a more mellow diagonal crack. At present (2020) it is one of the highest rated lines of its grade in the region of Pori. Traditional Finnish crimping and edges are found on routes on both ends of the main cliff. In contrast, the detached block offers a decent slab and several routes that operate partly or entirely along the aretes. Most notable of these are Porin Matti extensio (6C+), Viisi senttiä (6B+) and Puusku (6A). Ketun takapuoli -sector has two easy and low lines for warmup.

The area is access sensitive!

Lähin asuintalo on aivan pysäköintipaikan vieressä ja melko lähellä kalliota. Ole siis hiljaa. Alueella liikkuvat lähiasukkaiden lisäksi myös ulkoilijat, joten siivoa mankkajälkesi ja roskasi huolellisesti.

Aja Porin tai Noormarkun suunnasta tielle 2555. Käänny Rottapäkintielle, ja aja sitä vajaa 2 km. Pysäköintipaikka on vasemmalla, ja sille mahtuu huolellisella pysäköinnillä 3-4 autoa.

Kävele parkkipaikan länsipäädystä alkavaa metsäkoneuraa pitkin noin 130 m. Käänny hieman ennen kalliota vasemmalle pienelle polulle, ja jatka tätä pitkin noin 40 m kunnes näet jyrkänteen ja lohkareen, jotka ovat Kettu-sektoria. Jos suuntaat Ketun takapuoli -sektorille niin käänny pieneltä polulta pohjoiseen ennen jyrkännettä ja kävele 25 m.

Polkupyörällä paikalle voi ajaa samaa reittiä kuin autolla, tai oikaista Myyrynkujan kautta. Seikkailuhenkisimmät voivat pyöräillä osan matkasta vanhaa Pori-Haapamäki rautatielinjaa pitkin. Bussilla paikalle pääsee Porin keskustasta Noormarkkuun menevällä linja 66:lla, pysäkki Järvikylä P, josta on kalliolle noin 2 km kävely Rottapäkintietä pitkin.

The nearest house is just next to the parking space, and quite close to the crag. So keep quiet. The forest area is used also by nearby inhabitants and other hikers, so clean the magnesium stains thoroughly and take the garbage with you.

By car Kettukallio is reached by driving to road 2555 from Pori or Noormarkku. Turn to Rottapäkintie, and drive just under 2 km. The parking space is to the left, and it accommodates 3-4 cars with careful parking.

Follow the clear forestry machine track that starts from the west side of the parking place, and walk about 130 m. Just before the bedrock ridge turn left on small path, and continue about 40 m until you will see the main cliff and the boulder that are the Kettu-sector. If you are heading to the Ketun takapuoli -sector, then from the small path turn towards north just before the cliff, and walk 25 m.

By bike the crag is reached by the same route as by car. Alternatively, shorter version goes via Myyrynkuja. Adventurous bikers may also drive part of the route via old Pori-Haapamäki railway line. By bus one should take the line 66 (center of Pori - Noormarkku), drop off at Järvikylä P, and walk a bit over 2 km along Rottapäkintie.
