The most sectors are recommended early spring until late autumn. Only exception is "weiße Wand", "Röthenbacher Wand" and "Lug ins Land". These sectors are perfect for sunny winter days or if everything else is wet .

From early spring until winter a lot of the sectors soak water. Same after long rain periods. Only exception is "weiße Wand" and Röthenbacher Wand". Rain proof walls are rare though "weiße Wand" and Röthenbacher Wand" dry within a few hours.

Mostly vertical or slightly overhanging walls up to 25 meters garnished with perfect pockets and jugs are predominantly in "Schwarzer Brand". Rock quality is mostly perfect and protection is good in most of the routes.

The crag to be with kids is "weiße Wand". there are even routes bolted for kids.. Only access takes 15 minutes and is quite steep. "Schwarzbrennerei" and "Nischenwand" are okay for babies who don't move... All other sectors are unsuitable for kids.

Lug ins Land and surrounding sectors are quite remote but due to it's close via ferrata it can get sieged by hikers.

Next bigger town is "Hersbruck" where you can get all you need. Next closer shopping is in Hohenstadt.
Camping is in Hohenstadt, accommodation you can get in each village.
