Hei, onko kukaan kysynyt (kesä)kiipeilylupia tänne kalliolle?
Onko tämän kallion tänne sivustolle laittaneella tietoa tästä? Access sensitive?

Toby, did you load this crag here? Do you have any access information for this crag?

Hadn't seen that. There was no "suojeltu alue" on the Karttapaikka.fi mapping of the area so didn't realise there might be some issue. I've been going there for years and have never met anyone saying we shouldn't...! I wasn't the first climber to find it either as there was a very old nut low down in "Syntymäpaikka" when I first found the cliff. Looked like it had been there many years. I've climbed the corner in summer too, having given it a bit of a clean, but it wasn't very good so have mainly just gone there to climb the ice in winter.

I think it is accsess sensitive. take a look paikkaoppi.fi and choose layer ´luonnonsuojelualueet`.

I'm looking at paikkaoppi.fi and I don't see any "luonnonsuojelu" or "natura 2000 alue" there. You can find the natura 2000-regions here and it's not included: http://www.ymparisto.fi/default.asp?contentid=289613&lan=fi&clan=fi

The report Pauli posted seems to be mainly to prevent mining activity on locally significant cliffs, as stated here: http://www.ymparisto.fi/download.asp?contentid=31469&lan=fi No other legal implications are mentioned in the report (no endangered plants for example).

Maybe I´m wrong. Cannot find it anymore. As a local I heard that this area is protected somehow. I might be wrong. At least it´s a place where Aleksis Kivi used to sit. If you are interested just ask permission.

Yes, area is not directly protected by law, but it is still recognized as a nationally valuable area and kind of linked to cultural heritage by Aleksis Kivi.
As far as I know and understand, the link I posted before does not mention any protected species. If you are interested to check this, you can read through this:

http://www.ymparisto.fi/default.asp?contentid=370880&lan=fi&clan=fi

However, as this is still a notable cliff and close to capital area with many climbers, it would be very wise to ask a permission to climb here before posting climbing topo and instructions to web.

Place is really nice, and I see a lot of potential there for summer climbing as well. Good quality rock, cracks for natural gear and nice atmosphere. But also some (summer)houses really close by.
But, being only 20 min from Helsinki, I see that access to this place could be sensitive. It seems to be too good cliff to be messed up by not asking permissions in advance. Or at least, landowner should be find out.

Paavo, as you are a local, would it be possible if you could ask? :)
