Description

The crag is located 20 minutes by car from Västerås and is easily accessed by a paved road, about a 5-minute walk away.

Since the crag is located in an old quarry and the rock face is what remains after exploitation, the quality of the rock is uneven. Most areas are very solid, while others are not. Most areas are a combination of solid rock mixed with a few looser sections. There is also a lot of debris on top of the crag. Wearing a helmet when close to the wall is advised.

All the bolted anchors are equipped with lowering hardware. They are placed to be in a good position when lead climbing and thus, using a static rope and tying into a couple of the trees on the top of the crag when building top rope anchors is advised.

The water in the old quarry is, according to the property owner, of high quality, and taking a dip on a hot day is very nice.

History

Previously an old quarry operated by Skånska Cementgjuteriet AB, it has been left untouched for a while.

Some climbing was attempted in the late 90s, but due to the poor rock quality compared to other areas nearby, the crag was forgotten until 2023.

After looking at the crag with a fresh set of eyes, multiple promising routes were discovered, and during the spring of 2025, the first new routes were established.
