Gresia represents one of the first outdoor bouldering locations in Romania, with people coming here to climb since around 2007 and is, along with the Lera-Chiojdu area, perhaps the closest and simplest to reach bouldering locations from Bucharest city, with an under 120 km / 2 h long ride on good and decent asphalted roads.
The location itself is incredibly beautiful, situated just under a summit ridge to the NW, on a grassy plateau at around 975 m high with a SE exposure and fairly good local weather. Shade comes in at around 5 pm in summer, so it is possible to climb there all year long. After rain, if it rains, the problems dry out very fast, so that should not be a problem.
The crag offers a variety of boulders, most of which are packed in two distinct groups covering a small area, so it is very easy to navigate and just shift to whatever problem one might want to try. Most of the routes are of easy and intermediate difficulty, but there are quite a few of projects left.
The flat grassy landings, generally not very tall boulders, fun moves on good holds and aretes, along with great views, comfortable camping spots and intimacy make this an ideal crag for beginners, families, and fun climbing with friends in general.
