Description

Breisås is a small vertical wall with many easier graded lines, as well as some forgotten projects from the late 90s. Most of the boulders are found on the main wall, but there is also a small overhang with a nice boulder (Godt glemt 5+) located 50-100 meters further downhill from this wall. The majority of the lines are between 4 and 5+, and many of the routes are juggy with nice landings. Also, the easy access and short approach make this good choice for a quick session if you are short on time, or live in Bø without a car. Most of the main wall is comprised of excellent granite gneiss.

History

The cliff was discovered by a student in the late 1990s during a period where several other bouldering areas in Bø were established as well. The popularity of this crag has varied throughout the years; it was once a go-to beginner crag, but is rarely visited today in 2020. It is located in a popular outdoor recreation area nearby large housing areas, and is thus the closest crag to many of the inhabitants in Bø, including the largest student dormitory.
