No special access issues
Drive up the Daphnon Valley road towards Elona. At the second hairpin turn, about 6.3km from Leonidio’s main parking, turn into the quarry area just before the bridge. Park at the first available spot (37.160700, 22.798050). Please park considerately, as this area serves several sectors.
Berliner Mauer, Kindergarten
Both sectors are visible from the parking spot. From there, follow one of the many goat paths leading up to the walls. The approach takes about 10 minutes.
Golden Dusk
Start directly from the sharp road bend. Once again, follow the old goat paths, marked with cairns and paint spots on the rocks. Keep in mind that sun and vegetation may have faded these markers over time. The path can be thorny, so long trousers are recommended. It trends more to the right than you might expect, but it’s best to follow it rather than heading straight uphill, as the longer trail is also much more comfortable.
X-Mas
Continue along the dirt road into the valley. After just one minute of walking, the sector appears on your left, easy and straightforward.
Oedipus, Jewellery Box
Several options exist to reach these sectors, from scrambling up rocky slopes to following the riverbed. However, the easiest and most comfortable way is to leave the parking area heading south, perpendicular to the dirt road into the quarry. Follow a broad goat trail, first uphill in long switchbacks, then contouring parallel to the valley below, directly above sector X-Mas. Stay on this obvious trail as it passes beneath the red cave (to be described in future updates) and a large scree slope. From here, continue uphill along the scree path until you reach a switchback, use the slope to your left for the final meters to sector Oedipus. If instead you continue straight from the scree, you’ll arrive directly at Jewellery Box. Follow the trail through large boulders and bamboo-like vegetation to reach the wall.
