Description

Relatively large area with some very nice problems scattered below a cliffline. Great for warmer days as most problems have all day shade.

History

Developed in 2007 by a group of American and French climbers. It was forgotten about for many years but got a revival in 2017.

Baboon Buttress

The area is access sensitive!

Drive down the dirt road (towards Elizabethfontein, Wolfdrift) past the Elizabethfontein school on your right and the Lorraine farm on your left. Continue along the road for about 2km to a gate (make sure to close the gate properly!) with a sign marking the entrance to Sassies. Follow this dirt track as it circles a field then past through a cattle trap and continues up a rough track towards the cliffline and stops at a large obvious parking.

When you get off from the sandy road to the actual approach path, the approach is about 300 meters (should take 5-8mins).
