Description

🚶‍♂️‍➡️Due to the size of the crag the approach times and difficulty varies greatly from 1-20 minutes. Most bloulders aren’t too far from the road, yet some are quite hard to reach because they have a difficult uphill approach.

🚗 Parking is free along the road however you have to take a toll road to get there. This road is closed in winter.

☀️ The Valley itself gets a lot of sun, yet most boulders are in the forest and offer varying levels of shade. Especially good for warm summer days to escape the heat. The Ziller, small river, passes by the crag. It is very beautiful and can be used to cool off.

🧗‍♀️Zillergrund is one of the biggest bouldering areas in Tyrol and the biggest of Zillertal. There are many high quality Granite Boulders spread throughout a beautiful Hillside forest. It offers a wide variety of Grades and different styles.

Some of the more notable lines are:

🧨🆘Part of the crag has been closed due to a quarry that uses explosives to extract rock. The excavation is continiuely moving closer tk the crag with some boulders having been closes already. There are white signs that read “Achtung Sprengung” meaning ‘Caution Explosions’. Don’t go further into these areas as there have been football sized rocks flying into this area due to the blasts!!!
