Nice roofs & sandstone! Easy access to sectors and lots of climbing for all grades. If you're looking for a place to stay, the hotels (Hotel el Gallo, Hotel Arabia) offer nice & affordable accommodation in case you don't need anything too fancy and want to for example cook your own food on occasion. I must highlight that these two hotels are available for half the price of the local campsite lodges! A few words about the culture; it's very relaxed & openminded, but be prepared for the following: 1. Almost nobody speaks english, so learning a few words of spanish will get you far 2. If you want to eat vegetables or anything that's not sugarcoated heavily, be prepared to cook your own food 3. almost all restaurants are closed before 8pm. in Albarracin. 4. Remember to drink a lot of WATER. The tap water is not always drinkable, so buy some just in case you don't feel like taking a chance with it. And finally, don't rent a car from Goldcar and you'll be well off! :D
Easy to approach. Thousands of problems side by side. Lots of climbing on the roof. Albarracin village is small but idyllic!
The best bouldering holiday I ever went on was to Albarracín. The climbing here is immaculate.

LIMITED ACCESS AND FORBIDDEN SECTORS

Climbing has been limited in Albarracín area due the bird nesting and protecting the nature. Most sectors are open, but the following sectors are closed since 2014 (Climbing is FORBIDDEN ALL YEAR AROUND in these sectors):

Península
Madriles/Acantilados
upper part of Valle de Madera
Psicokiller
Mirador
Sol
Masia
Anywhere within 30 m of the road or rock paintings.
.
The aim of the restriction is to protect the natural bird nesting areas. These restrictions have been placed cause some climbers did not respect the nesting periods, that had been placed before. It is important that everybody respects 100% the prohibition in order to keep these areas safe and quiet. Following these rules is also important, so that there wouldn’t come more restrictions and bouldering in Albarracín would be possible also in the future.
Don't climb when it's getting dark or before sun rise. Don't make tick marks and use only a minimal amount of chalk. Park under the roof on the parking areas. Use only recognized paths. It's just about ok to sleep in vehicles, but don't leave any signs of spending a night in the area. Don't make fires. Keep your dog on a leash. Bury carefully all the human waste and ship out all trash. More information is available in Spanish at escaladasosteniblealbarracin.blogspot.com.
