Description

Uggelberget features a south-facing wall with the majority of routes ranging between 15-25 meters in height. While some routes are obscured by trees, others are openly exposed to the sun, offering varied climbing conditions wich makes this crag good place for both late summer and autumn. The rock quality is textured and with many finger intensice holds. The wall's inclination varies, ranging from slab to vertical terrain. Most of the routes on this wall are bolted sport climbs.

History

Access to Uggelberget is sensitive for several reasons:

Bird nesting: There's a vulnerable bird species that nests on the mountain, and it's not allowed to go near the mountain from February 1st to August 15th to protect the birds and their home.

Local residents: People who live in the area are watchful, and some don't like climbers. It's important to be respectful of the local people and their opinions an make as little noice as possible.

Past conflicts: There have been problems before with landowners and incidents like camping in fields wich led to damaged climbing bolts and anchors, which made the relationship with the landowner worse.

Uggelberget

Climbing has been limited!

From the 1st of February until the 15th of August climbing is banned here due to nesting birds. Even getting close to the cliff is prohibited during the period. If this is not respected Uggelberget is in great risk of becoming a bird protection area, which will reduce the climbing possibilities even more.

Holding courses is not banned, but large member groups are not desirable. You can camp on the grass by the fire place. Don’t block the road with your car, park on the shown spot. If you’re making new routes, paint bolts and anchors, please.
