Just 3 km away from the town of Hvar there are located Podstine crag. Special charm of the climbing site is its location on the sea itself. This could be the place for you if you are located in the town of Hvar and stuck with no car or other transport, looking for some climbing. Completely refreshed and equipped with new routes . The rock formation bellow the crag makes it seem like a private beach.

Podstine - Hvar

The area is access sensitive!

When in Hvar, the easiest way to reach it is to follow the signs towards Podstine hotel (which is near the crag) and take your car there, but be careful since parking is very very difficult to find in the summer. Park before or after the tunnel if you can find spots (usually not available after).

From the parking before the tunnel you follow the sight pointing on a path. You follow the path until you reach the cup of Podstine bay and go left following cliffs above the water, a path leads for 2 minutes through the woods and you come out at the rappel station for the crag.

Other ways include renting a boat or inflating your own in Hvar harbor and getting yourself 3Km from the harbor to the west. You can’t miss the crag.
