Description

A remote place, slightly away from the roads usually travelled, the village of Čepić is like a journey to history. Old stone houses, passages, gardens and small fields enable us to imagine what was life in Istria like before. Even today, Istria is full of surprises. Similarly, when going through the village towards the small karstic field, we cannot imagine what is awaiting. The way to the plateau is through a picturesque gorge surrounded by not too high rocks suitable for climbing. Climbers from the town of Buje have already equipped some of the routes. However, the same as when other climbing sites in Istria are concerned, Doriano Perhat, a climber from the town of Rovinj, is the most significant name in connection with the development of this climbing site.
Note: The climbing site is located on a private property. One should not disturb local traffic through a canyon that leads to fields. Park on the road immediately after leaving the village.
The wall gets wet fast and after rain it can dry a bit longer. Routes are mostly vertical, the easier ones without special cruxes , while harder routes may have powerful move or two. Spot is very well equipped. Very well crag for family climbing.
Beware: Keep your things tidy. In the morning and afternoon hours a herd of cows comes stampeding through canyon.
Accommodation: No campsite in the vicinity.
Recommendation: Visit to nearby medieval town Motovun.
