Description

Boragni is one of the most famous crags of Finale Ligure, thanks to its beautiful historic routes. Here you can find all the typical features that characterize Finale: world-renowned micro-pockets, riddled supergripped foot smears and mental run-out! Don't be scared though, plenty of easier routes are equally brilliant to climb and can satisfy any grade level.

Here you can find routes from 5c up to 8a. It has several sectors each worth a climb. The setting, in the middle of a wood from were tracks departs and cross over a stunning clearing just in front of the rocks makes you feel like being in a rainforest right in the northern emisphere.

Exposure varies from sector to sector, although mainly facing east, so making it a year-round destination: you can climb here all season long, just beware of humidity and mosquitoes in the hottest summer months, and cold breezes in the more rigid winters.

Most of the sectors are family-friendly at the base, and so, considering also the short approach, it might be crowded on the weekends during peak climbing season.

If you are climbing in Finale you must pay a visit or go back home without knowing what's Finale's rock taste like!

History

Bastionata - Settore Sinistro:

Iconic crag of Finale, one of the early-developed by the local pioneer Alessandro Grillo in 1987 with the now popular "Vasconi" and "Maniglioni", it benefitted by further expansion later in the year thanks to the work of the brother Zambarino, Luciano and Marco, in the late'80ies. More recently, some new routes were added and some re-bolted by Lodovico Spiota and Renato Delfino. Among other contributors: Matteo Felanda and Angelo Corso.
