Nestani Crag has a western orientation, making it ideal for morning climbing during the hot summer months. In winter, however, it can be freezing cold, so it’s best to choose a warm day and plan your climbing around midday to avoid low temperatures in the shade. The best seasons for climbing are spring and autumn.
The climbing style varies considerably between the different subsectors. You’ll find vertical, compact alpine limestone alongside slightly overhanging tufa routes with occasional pockets, and even some sections of conglomerate in between.

History
In September 2000, the local mountaineering club EOS Tripolis funded the development of the Voulomeni sector. Nikos Hatzis equipped the crag during a climbing school organized by EOS Tripolis.
In 2019, Christos Rigas and Kostas Tsoukleidis carried out maintenance work, replacing rusty bolts and adding three new routes.
Between 2022 and 2023, the Climb Greece team developed a significant number of additional routes. This work was funded by the Municipality of Tripoli, with the new lines equipped in a school- and beginner-friendly style.
The given grades should be taken with caution, as they may vary significantly if you are not familiar with the specific Kalymnos grading style.
