Veravo has recently been divided into two main climbing areas.
This is the left side.
The left side includes several noteworthy sectors: Bric Fulcio, Silvie, Placca Om, Hangar (with the small Box sub-sector on its left), and the impressive Rocca Rossa, which is currently undergoing development and rebolting thanks to the work of Matteo Gambaro.
This part of the valley stands out for its breathtaking scenery, with wide, wild views that make every climbing day a special experience. The approaches are not short—trails require a bit of hiking and elevation gain—but every step is well rewarded by the isolated atmosphere and the quality of the rock.
Climbing here takes place on excellent-quality limestone, solid and varied, offering a complete range of styles:
technical, delicate slabs for those who enjoy balance and precision,
vertical walls with pockets and crimps,
and powerful overhangs for climbers seeking more athletic moves.
The long routes of Rocca Rossa are the highlight of the area: modern lines, some of them quite demanding, but all undeniably beautiful. The smaller sectors, such as Hangar and its Box, also feature quality climbs, perfect for mixing single-pitch routes with more relaxed days.
In summary, the left side of Veravo combines adventure, variety, and spectacular views—a place that appeals both to those looking for more accessible climbs and to those chasing hard projects, leaving every visitor with the memory of a unique and wild environment.

Veravo è stata recentemente suddivisa in due grandi aree di scalata. Qui la zona di sinistra.
La zona sinistra raccoglie alcuni settori interessanti: Bric Fulcio, Silvie, Placca Om, Hangar (con il piccolo sottosettore Box alla sua sinistra) e la maestosa Rocca Rossa, che in questo periodo sta vivendo una fase di viluppo e richiodatura grazie al lavoro di Matteo Gambaro.
Questa parte della valle si distingue per il suo panorama mozzafiato, con viste ampie e selvagge che rendono ogni giornata di arrampicata un’esperienza speciale. Gli avvicinamenti non sono brevi: i sentieri richiedono un po’ di cammino e di dislivello, ma ogni passo è ampiamente ripagato dall’atmosfera isolata e dalla qualità della roccia.
La scalata si svolge su un calcare di eccellente qualità, compatto e vario, che offre uno stile completo:
placche tecniche e lavorate, ideali per chi ama l’equilibrio e la precisione,
muri verticali ricchi di fessure e gocce,
fino a strapiombi fisici e impegnativi, perfetti per chi cerca movimenti più atletici.
Le lunghe vie della Rocca Rossa rappresentano il fiore all’occhiello della zona: itinerari moderni, alcuni decisamente difficili, ma di una bellezza che li rende imperdibili. Anche i settori minori, come Hangar e il suo Box, offrono linee di qualità, perfette per combinare tiri singoli e giornate più rilassate.
In sintesi, la zona sinistra di Veravo è un luogo che unisce avventura, varietà e panorami spettacolari: un’area che sa conquistare sia chi cerca le vie più accessibili sia chi punta a progetti di alto livello, lasciando a tutti il ricordo di un ambiente unico e selvaggio.

⏪⌚The history of this part of Veravo is long and filled with key figures who have shaped its evolution.
As early as the 1990s, Fulvio Balbi was exploring these cliffs, opening and bolting the very first lines. Shortly after, Andrea “Dinda” Bisio brought significant development, while Matteo Gambaro introduced the first routes of high difficulty, paving the way for increasingly ambitious projects.
The Roc Pennavaire association played a fundamental role, dedicating its efforts to bolting and rebolting several sectors and giving new life to historic walls and crags that had remained in the background for years.
Over time, many other important names have left their mark on Veravo’s rock: Lorenzo Fornaro, Gianni Duregto, D. Bò, Cingano, Cortese, Motto Predani, to name just a few. From the mid-1990s to today, each of them has contributed to transforming this area into a true laboratory of climbing, adding new routes, new ideas, and a spirit of continuous exploration.
Even today, Veravo remains in full development, with sectors constantly expanding and ongoing rebolting projects ensuring its future, confirming its place as one of the most dynamic and interesting climbing areas in the valley.

⏪⌚La storia di questa parte di Veravo è lunga e ricca di personaggi che ne hanno segnato l’evoluzione. Già negli anni ’90 Fulvio Balbi frequentava queste pareti, aprendo e chiodando le prime linee. Poco dopo arrivò Andrea “Dinda” Bisio, che portò uno sviluppo significativo, mentre Matteo Gambaro introdusse nella zona le prime vie di grande difficoltà, aprendo la strada a progetti sempre più ambiziosi.
L’associazione Roc Pennavaire ha avuto un ruolo fondamentale, dedicandosi alla chiodatura e alla richiodatura di diversi settori, dando nuova vita a pareti storiche e a falesie rimaste per anni in secondo piano.
Nel corso del tempo molti altri nomi importanti hanno lasciato la loro firma sulle rocce di Veravo: Lorenzo Fornaro, Gianni Duregto, D. Bò, Cingano, Cortese, Motto Predani, solo per citarne alcuni. Dalla metà degli anni ’90 fino a oggi, ognuno di loro ha contribuito a trasformare questa zona in un vero e proprio laboratorio di arrampicata, portando nuove vie, nuove idee e uno spirito di continua esplorazione.
Ancora oggi Veravo è in forte sviluppo, con settori in costante ampliamento e progetti di richiodatura che ne garantiscono il futuro, confermandosi come una delle aree più dinamiche e interessanti della valle.
