Description

The single pitch climbing is Valbona currently consist of less than 20 relatively short routes found mostly on big boulders in the forest along the Valbona River.
The sport climbing here isn't a destination in its own right. Valbona is worth visiting for the scenery, the hiking, the guesthouses with their traditional hospitality and food. There's alpine muliti-pitches and there's bouldering.

Valbona is well worth the trip and the sport climbing is a worthwhile addition; whilst you won't find any world-class king lines, the shady spots in the forest or by the cold river can be a welcome escape from the heat on a warm summer day.

History

Most routes here were developed between 2016 and 2017 by German climber Wolfgang Schussler, who used to live in the area during that time and also did some early bouldering development.
Then in 2023 a few routes in a new sector where added by some other visiting climbers.
