Description

Val Gelada is a small sector nestled in the amazing area of Gelada valley, at the slopes of Brenta dolomites. If you are looking for a fresh crag you just bumped into a good one! North exposure plus almost 1900 meters above sea level equals to good grip also from June to August. Actually it is suggested to come during these months if you do not want to freeze.
The sector is composed of a limestone of an incredible quality, that offers long lines on cracks and sharp crimps. The 11 routes are long and generally technical and vertical, from 6a to 7c. Take 70 meters ropes.
Equipment is good. Some routes have spaced bolts.
The crag base is comfortable and shaded, but move a few meters away from the wall and you will find yourself in a beautiful sunny meadow. You can have a picnic and make children play here.
The approach is a bit long but not difficult or dangerous.

The area is really fresh and beautiful, coming here is a good way to escape the hot temperatures. The landscape over the summits of Bocchetta dei tre sassi (2600 meters of altitude) is really stunning.

History

Val Gelada has been bolted quite recently, so the equipment is good. The area still has a huge potential!
