Description

Grottosauro:
The weather is bad but you are fed up with the usual gym climbing? Grottosauro is the perfect place to get your forearms pumped. This huge cave offers long routes that are mainly technical and vertical on the left side, while strongly overhanging in the central part. All the routes need a good amount of endurance.
The difficulties of the 19 lines go from 6c to 8c. All the equipment is good.
The approach to the wall is not easy, cause it is necessary to downclimb using some fixed ropes. For this reason Grottosauro is not recommended for children.
The crag base is comfortable and the first meters of the routes remain mainly in shadow due to the nearby trees.

Grottosauro is one of the most overhanging walls in the nearby of Arco and if you like endurance routes you have to come here. Do not underestimate the vertical routes, cause they are really beautiful.

Pandora and Pandoro
These two small sectors are interesting news of Arco. Located some hundreds of meters under Grottosauro, they offer few physical routes that are really beautiful.
Pandora is more sunny and it is possible to climb here during the Winter, Pandoro is nested in the woods and has better conditions in the mid seasons.
Routes are not long but offer nice movements on tufas, pockets and crimps. Since these walls have been bolted mainly by Lorenzo De Bonis, one will find many traverses here.
The approach to Pandora and Pandoro is quite long and tiring, but the fatigue will be rewarded by the beauty of the routes.

History

Pandora and Pandoro
Pandora and Pandoro were discovered by Alessandro Seiwald and Federico Ghezzi, who set up their first lines with the help of Lorenzo De Bonis. Lorenzo, as in his other crags, put a huge effort into enhancing these nice walls and bolted most of the lines.
